Foster City is about 18 minutes from our South San Francisco yard on US-101 and CA-92, close enough that we can stage a coach for a 6am campus loop without an overnight repositioning charge. No marketplace, no subcontractor, no 20–40% broker margin on top of the operator rate. The maintenance on that coach was done in our own shop by our own mechanics.
CPUC TCP 0037963 · USDOT 3126263 · commercial auto liability on every coach · certificates of insurance issued same business day.
Our own vehicles, photographed by our crew. Not stock photography, not a partner's coach.

Road miles are from Leo J. Ryan Memorial Park and times are typical off-peak. Foster City was laid out with wide boulevards and real loading zones, so a full-size coach works almost everywhere here, which is not true of most Peninsula towns.
| Trip | What it usually looks like | Miles | Drive | Best vehicle |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Metro Center campus shuttlesMetro Center Blvd, E Hillsdale Blvd, Vintage Park Dr | Fixed loops between employee parking, the office campuses and the transit connections, running on a contract rate with the same drivers on the route so badge access and gate procedures stop being a daily conversation. | 1–4 | 10 min | 24–35-pax minibus |
| Hillsdale Caltrain connector loopsE Hillsdale Blvd across the 101 overpass | Timed to the train rather than to the clock, which is the only way a last-mile shuttle actually gets used. Departures shift with the published Caltrain schedule and we re-time them when it changes. | 3 | 10 min | 24–35-pax minibus |
| SFO group transfersUS-101 north from the CA-92 interchange | Corporate visitors, conference arrivals and team travel, flight-tracked so the coach is on the commercial curb before the group clears baggage rather than circling the arrivals loop. | 10 | 18 min | 56-pax coach |
| OAK transfers over the San Mateo BridgeCA-92 east to I-880 north | Oakland is the closer East Bay airport from here once you are on the bridge, and the toll and the bridge wind on the high span are both things the driver plans for rather than discovers. | 22 | 30 min | 56-pax coach |
| Leo J. Ryan Park and lagoon eventsShell Blvd, Marlin Ave, city lots | Community days, fireworks nights and lagoon festivals where the parking is gone two hours before the event starts. A double-decker moves 69 people a lap and keeps cars out of the residential courts. | 1–3 | varies | 69-pax double-decker |
| Coast offsites over CA-92CA-92 west through San Mateo and Crystal Springs | Team days at Half Moon Bay booked out of the campuses here. The driver is briefed on the grade, the fog and the coast-side lots that will actually hold a 45-foot vehicle, and the return leg has slack built in. | 17 | 30 min | 56-pax coach |
| San Francisco conference and offsite runsUS-101 north to SoMa and Mission Bay | All-hands, customer events and city dinners for Foster City employers, with the return staged before the evening southbound backup so the last hour is not spent parked on the freeway. | 25 | 32 min | 56-pax coach |
| Wedding and hotel guest loopsShell Blvd hotels, Metro Center, lagoon-side venues | Guest runs between the hotel block, the ceremony and the reception, plus a late return at the end of the night, all under one dispatcher who stays reachable from load-in to last drop. | 2–8 | varies | 24–35-pax minibus |

Every unit below is titled to Umbrella Global Bus, maintained in our own shop and driven by our own employees. The vehicle you confirm is the vehicle that shows up.

Most sites ranking for "charter bus Foster City" do not own a single vehicle. They resell operators like us and add a margin. Here is what changes when you skip that layer.
| Question | Umbrella Global Bus | Booking marketplace |
|---|---|---|
| Who owns the vehicle? | We do. Titled, insured and maintained by Umbrella. | A third-party operator assigned after you pay, often unnamed until day-of. |
| Who is driving? | Our employee, in our DOT drug-and-alcohol program, known to our dispatch. | Whoever the assigned operator sends. |
| What is the price built from? | Our operator rate, itemized: hours, deadhead from South San Francisco, tolls, gratuity. | An operator's rate plus the platform's margin, typically 20–40%. |
| Who answers at 5:40 a.m. when the bus is late? | The dispatcher who assigned the driver, with the coach on GPS. | A call center that has to phone the operator. |
| Certificate of insurance for a venue or employer? | Issued by us, usually same business day. | Requested from the operator through the platform. |
| Can I track the bus? | Yes, a live tracking link for every trip. | Depends on the operator. |
Ranges are published so you can plan a budget before anyone quotes you. The number you get back is itemized to the hour and the mile and does not move after booking unless the trip does.
Driver included. Five-hour minimum, so a half day runs $750–$875. Campus loops, Caltrain connectors, SFO runs, wedding guest shuttles.
Driver included. Quoted per itinerary on top of the hourly rate because deadhead, tolls and return time change the total.
Daily Metro Center and Hillsdale routes for Foster City employers. Monthly invoicing, PO-based billing and net terms.
Always included: driver, fuel, standard insurance, live tracking. Quoted separately: tolls, parking, driver overnight on multi-day trips, gratuity if you choose to add it.
A half-day (5-hour) 24-35 passenger minibus in Foster City typically runs $750–$875 including driver. A 56-passenger motorcoach is quoted per itinerary. Recurring campus loops are priced as a contract rather than as a stack of day charters, which is usually the cheaper way to run them.
Yes, this is one of our steadiest programs. Loops between employee parking, the Metro Center and Vintage Park campuses and the Hillsdale Caltrain platform run on fixed departures with the same drivers assigned, a live GPS link for your workplace team and monthly invoicing against a PO.
San Francisco (SFO, about 10 road miles), Oakland (OAK, about 22 miles over the San Mateo Bridge) and San Jose (SJC, about 28 miles). The bridge makes OAK genuinely competitive from here, which is not the case further up the Peninsula.
We are the operator. The Van Hool coaches, the minibuses and the Sprinters are ours, the drivers are our employees, and dispatch and the maintenance shop are both run by us from South San Francisco under CPUC TCP 0037963 and USDOT 3126263. No online booking marketplace sits in the middle.
Yes, usually the same business day, naming the company and the property manager as certificate holders. Campus security teams here often also want a driver roster and vehicle list for badge access, and we can send that with the COI.
Yes. All three of our 69-passenger double-deckers have a wheelchair lift and a restroom, and one 56-passenger coach and one minibus are lift-equipped as well. Tell dispatch how many wheelchair positions you need and we will assign the right unit rather than promising and improvising.
